Tour description

This tour takes you through a collection of enchanting destinations, each a testament to the city’s enduring beauty and spiritual depth.

We start our exploration at Ginkaku-ji, the Silver Pavilion, a haven of tranquility nestled in the northern hills of Kyoto. Visitors are often impressed by the elegant simplicity of this Zen temple with it’s meticulously maintained gardens.

Continue your pilgrimage at Honen-in, a hidden gem exemplifying the essence of Zen aesthetics. This understated temple captivates with its moss-covered grounds, whispered prayers, and the soothing sound of a stone water basin.

We then continue to some locations off the beaten path where we can escape the crowds and appreciate the quietude and spiritual ambiance of lesser-known spots.

We finish the tour at the impressive temple complex of Nanzenji. We can enjoy the breathtaking vista of the city and the Higashiyama mountains from the second level of the Sanmon gate and wander through the gardens while contemplating the aqueduct that spans the temple grounds. It is indeed a marvel of engineering amidst spiritual serenity.

The tour offers the possibility of extension with either Okazaki and Northern Higashiyama or Kiyomizu Temple & the Backstreets of Gion.
